American Father Poem by Poetical Analysis

American Father

You are dead
Enough said
In your stead
Your children bled
While you fled
They faces your dread
Wept to sleep Ina hollow bed
Were comforted with poison called drugs
Relied on commercials more than hugs
American Father, watch them die
Even if you turn your eye
Even if you never cry
Even if honestly deny
Even if you finally try
American Father, sold your sons
To men with guns
Beating their battle drums
Hunting those brave enough to run
American Father, what have you done
Your daughters are raped by legions
And when they tell its treason
Seek the Scriptures to twist the reason
This is their life not just a season
American Father, you're already dead
Enough said
In your stead
Your children bled
While you fled they faced your dread
Wept to sleep in a hollow bed
Your children need you more than bread
But, American Father, you're already dead
