America Made In China Poem by Marcellus Davis Jr

America Made In China

Off,
the world’s hill I eyeball my capitol fall,
stock inventors of medicine’s and mills,
once foreign consumer’s coveted, Carver,
Charles Drew, and Baby it’s a Duesy!

Dealer’s smoke-stacks belched frigerators
TV’s in a growing Boy’s ears, whirling
my wheel propelled pedals hook-slides on
cracked-concrete cranking up my future

I’d anvil, hammer, and iron out steel-cuffs,
but I can’t find no shirt-designer
‘cause America, made in China!

Industry’s captains, salvation’s looters,
offshore sharks, riding Makos to dump
short-dog Shorty’s gigs off in MEBA

Made Everywhere But America!

Even my food bags I been sacked
by Calamity’s chiseler’s climb in caskets
wit’ folly, GOP’s government of pimps
procure care at Walter-Reed’s center!

Shalls me out malady’s mandate, check
me in your croaker’s plans, paying
lawmakers to rob me gives me angina
‘cause America, made in China!

The House and Senate, Rep’s don’t pour
a quarter in taxes till, but get paid
to shut-down, the disables staples,
extort deals while dough stay froze

I’m so short grocery-stores lock
doors, and Detroit’s labor-gods
sell plastic Cadillacs for pachyderm
prices, my trappings float over-here
on freight-liners, ’cause America, made in China!
