Ambivalent Pride Poem by derrick foster

Ambivalent Pride

Be proud of who you are.
Be not ambiguous.
What you see is all there is.
But, I’m so much more than that
As for pride, Leo I am.
Pride runs through and through,
Backed by full confidence.
Be myself? Who else could I be?
I’m all I can be defiantly.
I was born this way.
Why do you look at me so strangely?
I’m not boasting.
Are you expecting me to hit…On you? Touch you?
Or have I gone too far?
Actually I already have.
Know this, I ‘m above it.
It’s too obvious and a waste of my time.
Try to see something else.
Take a look from the other side.
Lean a little to the left.
