Ambition Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

Ambition

All tired and strange, strung out
Like a busy railroad station
Spies come out of the restaurants
Diamond slaves of South Africa
Markets as corrupt as Herod the Great
Caesars and a thousand concubines
Love is for catacombs
Bargains in an open market
Baboon meat full of flies
Elephant tusks

Millions of angry people
Sex like a refuge
Opium sex away from political
Saints of medieval convents
Candles in a fast food place
The wicked are making deals
Vivaldi’s Four Seasons
Hero’s giving up on money
Kicking out crass values
Not needing to be popular

Her arms are one more prison
Velvet women who read the Bible
States of mind without religion
Samsara like pink clouds
Bliss without sex
Being in a spiritual river
Do you have any peace of mind?
Justice without names
Writings without names
Bragging is worse then purgatory

Ambition is east of Eden
