Amazing Grace Poem by Sunitria Couser

Amazing Grace

Amazing Grace
has set me free
flew me over the rough patches
right into the sunny meadows
I am so glad I had that song
to sing to my child
when there was no daddy around
to help me along
I had no hope
Just had to keep swinging these hips
Getting paid the only way I knew how
But inside that song flew me away
to a better place
To a place all my own
Its so wrong
While others glide on by
I had to try to stay afloat
On such stormy seas
Even when the water went over my head
I still sung that song
Praying that I would be heard
That I would be saved
