Alphabet Soup Poem by Jay Alexander

Alphabet Soup

Rating: 5.0

Arise fair spoon,
Bring liquid joy;
Could all the
Days which I
Espoused mundane
Fair compare to such
Goodness which is
Here before me.
Inch by measured inch,
Juices will churn,
Knowledge imbibed,
Love kindled,
Made manifest, sans
Ostentation sans
Prejudice. Leaving one
Question unanswered,
Required by
Students in these matters,
Treated with caution,
Unless otherwise stated:
Veracities to
Which
Xenophobes
Young and old aspire:
Z - does it mean Zero?

Romeo and Juliet, Epicurus and Platonism all in one! A great poem! Well done.

Thanks Mj, your comment has been a real moral booster. I haven’t posted on PH for a while, so it’s great to get positive feedback from fellow poets so soon after posting. Tomorrow I’m leaving for a few days of relax and in between this and other activities, hopefully, I’ll find time to catch-up on the PH website, and to read your poems too.
