Alpenglow Poem by Randy McClave

Alpenglow

Up before sunrise I saw the alpenglow,
Upon the summits of the mountains
A long, long time ago.

The rising sun was at the mountains,
Which I stared from far away
It reminded me of colored fountains.

After sunrise I watched the falling snow,
The mountaintops were illuminated
And again I saw the alpenglow.

There were traces of the color of goldenrod,
The mountaintops were bathed
It was a terrestrial manifestation by God.
