Alone With Your Glass Cased Heart

calming breeze caress your face
it cradles your sadness
and those troubles you poorly hide
evident only in your tear that refuses to fall

your world becomes silent
downtrodden and alone
as you escape looking for any shelter
before your legs fail you again

‘coz the drought is weakening
the night never lets you sleep
and all those sorrow is entombed
inside your glass cased heart

all the inspiration is ebbing away
you yearn for a change
wishing for an ardent empathy
but there's no one you see as filthy

you light a single candle
so tonight you won’t be alone
watching silently, wanting,
envying it’s solemn dance

then you look up the canopy of stars
and shed a tear for each light
wanting the dawn to rise anew
and begging for a chance to roam

condemned, that is what you feel
bound to the embrace of the earth
feel only the harshness of sands
the dryness of human emotions

broken in every sense of life
the devil is always at your back
his finger laying at your shoulder
wasting your every chance to stop crying

again you run after the sun woke you up
to find another shelter for your heart
but the much needed empathy is gone
for there are no one as filthy as you are
