Alone In The Winepress Poem by Terrance Tracy

Alone In The Winepress

There comes a time in every person's life when misunderstood words travel throughout the neighborhood of humanity, your friends abandon or shun you as if you have leprosy.

The motivation may be jealousy or the zealousness of conviction offers you up as innocent blood shed on a dish of false witness, served on a platter of gossip in the guise of prophecy misspoken.

Address their concerns if given a chance but do not abandon that which you know in your heart to be true for you may be in the winepress alone with nowhere to call home.

Accused and convicted by those who claim to be holy have left you stranded in the arid desert of religion; when you speak of the righteous one, who is mighty to save, your host may place you alone in a winepress not fit to be served.

Now is the time to be brave as you trod in the winepress alone; take heed the hem of your garments will not be red from the blood of the unrighteous ones that your Lord desires to save.

A declaration of his words spoken long ago, "I have trodden the winepress alone, and from the peoples no one was with me." Too preoccupied seeking their crowns, they have forsaken their first love, and now they must frown.
