Alone Poem by Elvira Kay

Alone

Being alone
being this oneness
like a straight candle
just lighting
lighting
yet shrinking
shriveling
burning up the wax
and the years
burning with pain
yet lighting
lighting and dying

me with my light

it's about living your life to the fullest, while waiting for 'the one' ;)

I thought that this was a poem about loneliness, then I thought maybe 'me with my light' suggests a significant other and 'burning down with pain' represents the difficulties that relationships create. Solitude is not loneliness. So the line 'The years of solitude' could mean a private affair between two people. Please let me know, I am intrigued. This poem is impenetrable to me.
