Alone

Alone..... what a heart-wrenching word,
Alone..... empty space all around,
Spinning alone on a revolving orb,
No one's making a sound

Alone..... drifting on restless waves,
Alone..... on a stormy sea,
The desperate hours of loneliness
Attack relentlessly

Alone..... time to ponder it all,
Alone..... now the questions form,
Why did the captain abandon ship?
My boat drifts alone in the storm

Alone..... no one in the temple,
Alone..... not a prayer being said,
The Lord has closed his eyes and his ears,
Did someone say he was dead?

Alone..... I carry the burden,
Alone..... I stumble through it all,
Not a spirit nor an angel abides.....
No one to see when I fall

Alone..... if there should be laughter,
Alone..... if there should be tears,
Intertwined with innumerable threads....
It's the sum of all my fears

nice expression of loneliness in diff. states and stages.... truly very unwanted and only gives pain.

Crying until there is no more tears so you might as well laugh. Stumbling around with the burdens carried and traveling in search of something but what is it? The ship meets the wind and waves and all alone you are there to embrace it all pondering why you are still alone? There is 2 kinds of alone the kind where nobody is around and the kind when you walk into a room and it feel as though the room moves around you. There is always someone trying to convince someone else they are not alone yet they don't really understand. Because it's not about having people around that care about you it's about feeling all alone because no matter how many are around you, you feel like your the only one and find it almost impossible to find someone to connect with on a level that you know you are not alone. It's rare.

So that being said I understand and relate to this poem all to well. It's like were satellites drifting and look for a signal from somewhere from someone or something that we can pick up on. Every once in awhile we send out our own signals hoping someone will pick up on it and therefore communicate. Yet silence becomes are only friend but as long as you are happy in this state of being that is all that matters. Great poem =) Allan Gerard~ (Report) Reply
