Alone Poem by Kathryn Kubacki

Alone

Rating: 5.0

Torn sheets
Shattered plates
Tearstained mirror
Bloodstained rug

Crying mother
Stilled child

Angry father
Smoking gun

Sirens wail
Grieving screams
Handcuffs click
No remorse

Sparking chair
Lethal drops
Stone face
Heart stops

Crying mother, stilled child
Have been together all the while

Red faced mother
Pale faced boy
In his hands
Clutched a small toy

Lowered down into the hole, but woe
Back with father he soon shall go

Red faced mother
Trudging home
To swallow the pills.
Boy won't face father alone.
