Alleluia! And The Birds Were Cheering Poem by Hebert Logerie

Alleluia! And The Birds Were Cheering

The trains were coming
And it was impossible for them to stop.
The birds, sitting at a perfect spot,
Were beside themselves; they were chirping
Throughout the entire scene,
Behind the dark screen,
Where you and I hit the highest notes.
Yes, indeed, we reached the very top
Of our unconsciousness without smoking pot,
With sparkles in our eyes, amidst the ceremonial smokes.

Alleluia! And the birds were singing.
We had the best moment of our lives.
We sang, moaned and enjoyed countless dives
In the pool, under the cool breeze of spring.
