We all have hopes
Of a better day

When the sun is up
And the leaves all sway
When the ground is clear
With a shining pathway
When the river runs free
And the bubbles float away

We all have hopes

When the sparrows chirp
And the horses neigh
When the grass is green
At Lover’s Bay
When the cats are happy
And with children play

We all have hopes
Of a better day

When the light falls
On all things astray
When the quilt smells
Of that cologne spray
When the jewels of the world
Near your feet lay

We all have hopes
