All Of A Sudden Poem by Michael P. Johnson

All Of A Sudden

ALL OF A SUDDEN
Salvation's bells had barely rung
Their song had hardly ceased
When love sang out with Heaven's tongue
And faith in life increased

My cup flowed full with Heaven's Wine
Life's Bread God gave to eat
I knew His love was truly mine
Beside my Saviour's feet

Such peace began to flood my mind
Such joy caressed each thought
Such love I'd never dreamed to find
I knew this fish was caught

Feeling life's struggle start to fade
Feeling the ease of pain
I knew my debts through Christ were paid
As Truth began to reign

Through faith I'd shut the dragon's jaw
Through sins willing confessed
What foolishness was thought before?
What had my soul possessed?

My heart released such glorious praise
Feeling life's healing Flame
On Jesus' face my eyes would gaze
Devoid of all past shame

All of a sudden it came to me
Through nothing I had done
By thought alone I'd bent my knee
Yet here was Christ God's Son

Why should He choose this selfish soul?
Knowing my thoughts and schemes
Yet here I stand completely whole
Facing my wildest dreams.....
