All Love Is Love

Love the sound of lifted laughter
Love the thought of ever after
Love is love, all love is love

Love the hand that rocks the cradle
Love the working man so stable
Love is love, all love is love

Love the words still unspoken
Love the promise left unbroken
Love is love, all love is love

Love the minstrel, love the maestro
Love the lyrics sung insightful
Love is love, all love is love

Love the vagabond and vagrant
Love the hand picked flowers fragrant
Love is love, all love is love

Love the purity of principle
Love the ideas thought invincible
Love is love, all love is love

Love the poor man void of riches
Love the artist painting pictures
Love is love, all love is love

Love the velvet sky of evening
Love the wandering wounded grieving
Love is love, all love is love

Love the children chasing rainbows
Love the place we hope their pain goes
Love is love, all love is love

Love the two who stand united
Love the vows, in truth, recited
Love is love, all love is love

Love the pleasure and the purpose
Love the lasting three ringed circus
Love is love, all love is love

Love the memories and minutes
Love the life you're living...in it
Love is love, all love is love

Love the sister and her brother
Love in peace, love one another
Love is love, all love is love

LOVE IS LOVE...ALL LOVE IS LOVE

Poet's Notes about The Poem

(09/05/13) Written for the occasion of my brother Dominick wedding his partner, Bob...on a most beautiful day in August. I was honored to be their witness...that finally their love be not judged by anyone, and what the heart holds as honest, is celebrated, joyfully and rightfully so! I will forever protect that love is love, all love is love. PEACE

    Dear poet,
It is first time in my life that i have ever found such an elaborate definition of love. Really love in infinite and the hearts of lovers are too infinite. (Report) Reply

The refrain you invented for this poem is exactly right: it's short and flexible, the rhythms is mobile and its meaning is holistic and indisputable. The 1st and 2nd lines of each stanza carry the weight of the poetic argument, and the variety of circumstances, characters, complications, celebrations, etc. is happy, dizzying, wondrous. In a poem like this all things truly are equal; it's not about prioritizing. Rather it's about being inclusive and welcoming. I felt not only your joy as I read, but also an urgent sense of mission runs parallel to the joy. Then I read your prose note and realized the mission I sensed was truly there in the bonding of a same sex couple in a marriage of true minds. The good will in this poem will nourish its readers forever. (Report) Reply

i like it very much, i agree love is love no matter how it is, i struggle with this because i love my exgirlfriend very much. I also was raised that this life style is very wrong. I did get married to a great man and we are three now are very close friends. I wish everyone peace love and joy its not my place to judge what any one does that is between them and their creature. I had to leave this life style because it bothered me in my soul with my creature, yet i still struggle alot with this. (Report) Reply

I could hear this sung perhaps by the Beatles with Paul Mac on lead vocals... it reminds me of All You Need is Love. I would run this past a musician or two just to see if they could do it some justice... great work. (Report) Reply

There! little girl; don't cry!
They have broken your doll, I know;
And your tea-set blue,
And your play-house, too,
Are things of the long ago;
