All Just A Game Poem by Spiritwind Wood

All Just A Game

You lose touch with reality
forgetting who you are
inside your mind you play
a world in a fantasy
trying to be somebody's star

Like it's all just a game
forgetting your own name
trying not to be the same
of who you once were before
seeing through eyes fake
trying to just give more
than you can take

But at the end of it all
it's only your heart you break
as you start to fall
wondering why you can't hold on
to the promises made
forgetting the words you would say

Waking up torn and frayed
as another memory starts to fade
you look out your window
and only see your own shadow
of all that is now forever gone
