All Good Things Poem by Sailing to windward

All Good Things

Fleetingly I sensed you there,
searching through the years
and held my breathing close to me
In case you disappeared

Fleetingly I smelled your hair:
made me young once more,
and lightly danced that night afresh
along that crashing shore

Fleetingly, I found your eyes
warmly searching mine,
and despairingly, I felt again
the heartless track of time
