All Flags Flying Poem by Donal Mahoney

All Flags Flying

Wally and Stan
neighbors on the same block
for 30 years never

had a problem until
Wally asked Stan over
big steins of beer

why he never lets
the American flag fly
from his rooftop

the way everyone else
on the block does
on holidays especially

and Stan paused
sipped his beer and said
he saw no sense

in preaching to the choir
but when he migrates to Arizona
he will fly it every day there.

Makes me wonder what patriotic corner of the states Wally and Stan drank those steins in. Nice work
