Alkaloid Lips Poem by Dilantha Gunawardana

Your magnanimous lips my love
Are like a dose of cocaine
That intoxicates my world
As I surrender to a misty euphoria
Only the union of your taste and touch
Can deliver

As I relinquish all claims to my sanity
To prostrate to your addiction
To shoot your lips
A few milligrams at a time
Each passing day

As your alkaloid lips
Bequeath sachets of bliss
To my 21 grams of soul

For surrender
Was never this sweeter
Nor this memorable…….
