Alive Poem by Jacqueline Palacio

Alive

I went to search
my thoughts of if
you weren't there
but I felt you near
I went to see
Everything... but you
I saw you appear
like a cosmos
a drop of universe.

It sounds like us
reminds me
all about you
I think I need
more of soul
so I know
your air is me
I need to keep
my breath for you
I fade in space
you're in time
I'm a half clock
I get to see
but not to feel
from afar
It's best to keep
the pretty
Alive.

I blame me
for banning you
from us
I curse at myself
for stopping me
from you
because I though of you
and you have some on your own
But I can't have you.
