Alice's Return Poem by Maryanne Thelen

Alice's Return

Rating: 5.0

Life is cruel
Blood stains a perfect white
Dry tears run in the night
To love is to bleed with an open heart
Dealing with fate wears on your soul
Writing our story we illustrate our own doom
Our downfall will wait
Wait until the perfect moment
It will kill you without mercy
Like a blade to the heart
And all the while I've been wondering
Where is Wonderland now?
And all this time
I've been Alice
Cruel, insane, sadistic, and thoughtful
With Vorpal blade in hand
Alice has returned to Wonderland
