Aldrig glemmer jeg


Aldrig glemmer jeg den Morgenstund
— røde Rose — da du stod udsprunget,
lys og skær, som havde fra din Bund
Dagen nylig sig mod Himlen svunget,
stod og lyste mig saa sart i Møde
som en nys udfoldet Morgenrøde.

Eller, Rose, vidste du Besked -
havde hun, som dig i Aftes bragte,
aandet i dit kyske Bæger ned
søde Drømme, før hun mig dig rakte,
at de Natten over kunde sove
i dit Blomsterlejes Dugalkove.

Er det hendes lyse Kærlighed,
som ved Gry er steget fra dit Indre,
at min stille Stues Morgenfred
tyst med hendes Hilsen kunde tindre!
Rose, i din Kalk sin Sjæl hun sænked,
den har dig din fine Rødme skænket.
