Al Bru. Poem by Charles M Moore

Al Bru.

Rating: 5.0

Algernon Jovi Von Tressamaine Bru
a strange name you'd think for a parrot to choose
but Algernon thought if I'm known as Al
it will give me street cred with the rest of my pals
and Jovi a name he just had to adopt
from his favourite group, He was well into rock
Von from a German he once met in Spain
and to sound more exotic he chose Tressamaine
but feeling he just had to round it all off
he picked the name Bru from a drink that he loved
Algernon Jovi Von Tressamaine Bru
still, just a parrot between me and you.

You should give fair warning. I spit gin through my nose, when I read this. I suppose that's a good sign for a song. I'm fairly sure that the words follow a joyous meloday. Excellent. - Will

A parrot by any other name is still a parrot. Cute little ditty, Charlie - is he yours? Reminds me of people who give weird names to their children, and they end up hating it. Wonder what words he'll be squaking - certainly not 'Polly wants a cracker'! lol! Linda :)
