Acknowledge computer fan wheeze
Blue red with green stripe sleeve
Of little Oxford English dictionary
Wall shadows assuming varying degrees
Of menacing synchronicity
The morning light, my consciousness revealed
The kettle’s hiss, the toaster’s aborted take off
Crumbs patterning the bench top
Feeding cities I cannot even dream of
My kindness then, shy as a silverfish
My love and assorted virtues
Dropped stitches in the weave
Another day, distinguishing itself for itself
Whilst just another day to me
