Agnes Poem by James Timothy Jarrett

Agnes

Rating: 4.8

Friend of my youth with many glories shared

Confidant of my soul and comfort in my arms

My ear hears the saddest thing of all

Where once beat that true heart

Where my head lay to sleep and peace

I hear hollow, thundering silence

Oh how I am reminded by your sad poem of my own dear friend with four furry legs and a capacity to enormous affection. Thank you for expressing it so well.

I was initially thrown off by the last line. I should have given the title more attention. This is a poem I recommend to every reader here. GW62
