Again Poem by gershon hepner

Again

You have to read again, again,
the words, and once again, to savor
the nuances with acumen,
and relish their unflorid flavor.

You have to love again, again,
the one you love to relish
or 'Yes! ' will turn into 'Amen! '
which you can then no more embellish.

Today is the 100th anniversary of the birth of Vladimir Nabokov. His son Dimitri discussed the way that re-reading his seventeen novels discloses new meanings with every reading, pointing out that his father used to emphasize the importance of savoring every word.
