Afterthought Poem by gershon hepner

Afterthought

After thought comes thought, unless
you're practical and like
to do the things you think, and stress
your body, not your psych.
But after thought I like to think
again, and being caught
where mind counts more than deed, to sink
in thought and afterthought.

Inspired by a poem by Richard Wilbur called “Year's End”.

This poem seems to take in in circles, but isn't that all thought and life are?
