Afterlife Poem by Chris jones

Afterlife

Rating: 4.8

Im in love with the idea of death
For it brings relief and peace
But am i wrong, is there
Really peace among the deceased.

Do we see darkness
And that is that
Or is there a new world
With a whole new format.

Is god real
Does he exist?
If so, heaven won't let me in
My name wont be on that golden list.

If suicide is a sin, where
Do the lost souls go
Hell! Or a new start in life,
With only scars to show.

When we pass over
Do we walk through them pearly gates
Or do we become lost souls
Searching through the living for our family and lost mates.

Some say eternal life is granted,
If we repent our sins
But how can life be granted to us when we are dead!
Maybe when a life ends a new one begins.

Death is simple, what happens after is not
But we shall all pass away
And what i know for certain is,
Everyone will end up 6 feet under or in an ashtray!

I am in no hurry to find out. There is only one thing we can rely on in life, and that is the fact one day we are going to die. The poetry is really good. Keep on posting, Heaven can wait. Sue x
