After War Comes Peace

Rating: 4.0

'Let he who desires peace prepare for war'
A truth so very raw
Hits you harder that a Mike Tyson right hook to the jaw

Emotions and thoughts at each corner of the ring
Sharpening blades and shields like warriors of Shaka the king
A combat bound to leave the strings of the heart so worn out they can no longer sing

But like every battle fought with tears, sweat and blood
After the turmoil must certainly come the peace
The sounds of agony as blades of thoughts run slices through the mind will cease
A defeaning silence amidst the loud screams of emotions will no longer be just a tease

In the horizon an image of serenity is visible
Greenery looms atop the ashes of flames once burning within
Tears dropp to the ground with less vigor, like drops of rain sliding quietly down a leaf

A smile as the strings of the hearts are renewed
Striking cords to let out a melody of love
In the distance takes to flight a dove
Now I know I am really walking to the light
Peace is coming home to settle and it feels so right

The darkness of a war gives way to the light of harmony
Before dawn, darkness must reign
To enjoy the beauty of a rainbow, it surely has to rain
And so warfare will for a while be a pain
But fear not, calm and tranquility will prevail
