After Awhile Poem by Reanna Thornton

After Awhile

After awhile

One learns to look at nature

And realize they are not alone or unloved

Plants keep growing and birds keep singing

When you pass by them.

After awhile

The sky still is blue and

The sun still rises in the east

And that you are not forgotten.

After awhile

Ones sees that love is not an imaginary beast

But something that we bury deep within us

That we forget we have it.

And after awhile

One feels that beauty is not on the outside

But within one's heart, soul, and spirit

And it is a beauty nothing can ever take away
