After A Breakup Poem by Adele Katie Bowling

After A Breakup

Is our love over?
Is this romance really done?
I guess I was wrong
To think that you could be the one
When you said you saw our
Destiny written in the stars
Is this what you saw?
You and I, apart?

I can't believe
You would say goodbye

I thought you told me
I was the only one you loved
You only wanted me
And I would be enough
You said the only thing
That you could see clearly
Was the twinkle in my eyes
And I believed

You were the constant
In my chaotic life
I was stupid
But now you've cut me
Like a knife
I can't believe I
Actually fell for you
I feel like a mirror
Because when I broke
All I saw was you

Is it all my fault?
Maybe you, too, are broken

This feels wrong
Are you sure
That we broke up?

Is our love over?
Is this romance really done?
I guess I was wrong
To think that you could be the one
When you said you saw our
Destiny written in the stars
Is this what you saw?
You and I, apart?

I can't believe
You would say goodbye

But I realized
It was all a trick
I guess your ex
Was jealous
And staged it all
So that's it

I knew you wouldn't
Say goodbye
Neither would I

Hey, at least
I didn't change my status

Note: I think that after a break-up or a confusion in a relationship, both people are confused, and this song is slightly jumbles and brings out that confusion. Even at the end, there's still mixed feelings and everything's not okay, just like in real life.
