Afraid Poem by Serenity Fay

Afraid

Sometimes we are afraid to face the mistakes we made in life
We are afraid to make a difference between good and bad

We are not equal
We are not we
We are not who we say we are

In everybody hides a demon
A demon we try to suppress
A thing we fight until the end of time

But we are afraid to give into our heart
The thing that lies deeply hidden
The secret of our heart
A secret that is trying to surface

A secret that has shredded so much blood
Created so much pain
A pain that would drive you insane

That every time it tries to surface
We once push it down
With an inhuman force

So that the secret that is hidden
Remains hidden
For another thousand maybe two thousand years

Well done. I feel like I hide my poetry from the world. I know we tell truth often times but not enough to astound others how much we really see. It is amaizing how after reading your piece i feel, like i ought to let loose all those inhibitions an' let the world shudder under their feet for what we shall be speak.

Great poem in that it really reflects a certain reality. Most of us go through life hiding secrets of one sort or another.
