Adversity Poem by Crystal Tutson

Adversity

To know adversity is to know me,
For it is the underlying pain inside of me.

Each day brings forth something new.
Its as if adversity has nothing to do.

Once I complete the running course,
Adversity comes along with a stronger and harder force.

It tries with all its power to capsize my life’s boat,
Not knowing that on my boat I was given a float.

Adversity tries to send the winds to make me alarm,
But adversity forgets that I was given the power to calm the storm.

Because of adversity, pain has become a friend of mine.
Pain can no longer sneak up on me because I’m no longer blind.

Adversity brings pain; pain produces life’s tests; tests give us a testimony.
I am stronger because of tests and able to withstand the trials of adversity.
