Adoration Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Adoration

Along the ocean he swam,
The crystal water filled his gills
His fins graced each of the soft currents he saught,
Passing the pebbles that rested along the bottom of the clear ocean,
Other fish passed by him as he'd often stop and look at the sky,
A blurred view as he was curious about the ocean that lie above,
The soft patches of air that formed different shapes
The sounds they must make passing through them,
Genesis of something new,
Soon after he met another fish,
Beautiful beyond compare her fins much longer than he,
They conversed as the underwater bubbles carried their words, soon love flourished,
Infactuation begins,
His eyes saw things in a different light, following her everywhere she went.
They learned much about each other.
Up became down as heaven was found in the palm of her fin.
Blessed was he as he no longer wanted to travel the ocean saught above,
Instead, they traveled new sights far along the ocean.
Wasn't long before they reached an island,
They turned the page of eternity as the ocean rippled the vibration felt between them two.
Across the island, the trees.
The currents rocked them softly to sleep peacefully, quietly.
He awoke to find her gone,
He searched everywhere he could, seeking his love.
Still he couldn't find her.
The current became stronger, pushing him away from the direction he was going.
He swam harder, faster.
Until he reached the bottom of the island finding her in the fins of another of his likeness.
A burst of emotion struck his heart. Fear, regret.
He saught release, swimming upward towards the sky,
The current pushed against him.
Still he swam harder, faster.
Filled with hurt. Before he knew it he burst out of the ocean crashing against the sand.
Lost in a bitter rage that soon turned to regret.

Sad. But very well done. Thanks for the introduction to this spot. I am submitting some of my work. Giving it a try as someone suggested.
