Accident (Fun Poem 164) Poem by David Harris

Accident (Fun Poem 164)

Accidents happen at most
inopportune times leaving us
wondering why we did that.
I’m talking of little accidents
like tripping over something
we should have seen.

Mine was getting out of bed
in the dark, treading on something,
losing my balance
and falling back on my hand
I put out to support myself.

Spraining my wrist of my right hand.
Being right handed
it hurt worse than had it been my left
and as I write this
the agony increases with every pen stroke.

What am I? A silly clot,
but life goes on
and I have to deal with it
like it or not,
until I do something silly again.
