Accept The Truth (1) Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Accept The Truth (1)

ACCEPT THE TRUTH.....(1)
Though God's true prophets live today
Although life's word they bring
They speak the truth and show the way
Through Christ their Lord and King

Not few believe God's servant wrong
Not few stand back dismayed
Too long man's sung the devil's song
Through which they've erred and strayed

Religion has them tightly bound
Even with truth so near
They fail to climb to higher ground
Although the way is clear

Man's traditions are oft at fault
Religious pomp and pride
But seasoned with God's righteous salt
His servants truth provide

They'll scream and shout and laugh to scorn
They'll criticize the light
Although they say they've been reborn
Yet still the truth they fight

Drinking religion's wayward brew
Brings oft a bleak result
They think the facts are quite untrue
God's servants from a cult

Why can't they see the devil's hand
Refuse to be his tool
Begin at last to understand
And play no more the fool

When sound advice comes walking by
When life would break death's chain
Let not religion blind your eye
Through Christ be born again P.T.O.
