Abstract Tension Poem by Judith Vriesema

Abstract Tension

Abstract tension;
it fills every square corner
of
an ordinary afternoon
where
lavender and snow
mimic
their reflections
wading
throuh puddles of chords.
Voices yet stilled
by windows closed to the afternoon sun
stare
through hoops of wonder
and
mimic the chords of music played by the soul.
Life chases
a current
of water
and waltzes
within
rooms that echo the paintings
of abstract conversations;
rainboots and winter
waiting
to fall in love with spring.
Chords
follow
your footsteps falling through the echoes of each room;
white corridors that follow warm planks of pine;
lavender clouds
and
windows dreaming about midnight stars.
Abstract tension:
lavender conversing with snow upon a staircase of chords
