Absence Versus Presence Poem by Akhtar Jawad

Absence Versus Presence

Rating: 5.0

When beauty is in the arms,
I inhale all its charms,
Outside me it’s nothing that remains,
It’s me, the beauty who sustains,

When beauty is away,
I am just dry clay,
Waiting for the rains,
It’s me, crying in pains.

When the beauty reunites,
A fire she ignites,
Love smiles like a virgin bride,
And me a full moon tide!
