Absence Poem by Shagun Khera

Absence

Consumed by insignificance of my existence..
tampered, trolled and traversed soul..
withering in the silence of a numb sense...
and the mirror returns an empty hollow
of a once beheld life form! !
absent from sanity
retributed to a silent storm

The memories painted by your laughter
hang on the wall, the bed, the kitchen, even the wardrobe...
your smell still hanging in the air
obscenely attached to the void you so meticulously crafted...
to the bleeding trail of your pseudo care! !

the photographs devour the torrential downpour of an animated nostalgia
only to dismiss the existence of the truth! !
once you were mine, and now you are gone! !
embellished and engraved memories of our distant past..
recourse my present to the same dull pain which still lasts
blunt and infectious! !
like a rusted sword....
perforating the veil of today...
to let the yesterday come in, again! !
You are not here,
neither am i! !
still crippled and fallen,
where you last left me...
and only the whiplash of the ruthless today
brings me back to life
just to realize...
your absence
which can never heal....
and never fade..
hanging by the chains of a surreptitious torment...
a life amok, prowled from a self inflicting hunt! ! !

I do not miss you by my side
only those endeavors to prove myself over and over again in
the tests that you put up
to seek the loyalty and command,
of a helpless madman, hopelessly in love, chained...

All is miss is the way you made me hate me...
and love you more everyday! !
