Above The Timberline Poem by Linda Ori

Above The Timberline

Rating: 4.4

Oh, let my spirit wander
Where the air is crisp and clear
And the whispers of the wilderness
Are the only sounds I hear;

Oh, let me venture yonder
Where the earth is pure and clean
Where mankind and pollution
Are seldom ever seen;

Let me test my soul's endurance
In this unforgiving place -
Let man and beast in battle
Meet each other face to face;

For passion is the hunter
And wisdom is the prey
And if I am victorious
Let my legend ever stay

Away above the timberline
In that stronghold of the gods,
Where I dared to face the challange
And excelled against the odds!

Passion is the basis of wisdom. I've met very few dull, boring, wise people. A few wise idiots, but that's another story. Beautiful poetry that takes the reader along with you and challenges them, as well. That's cooking with gas...propane at that altitude. Write more and more. Sleep with a notepad! ! xxElysabeth

All I'm going to say about this Linda, is that you lifted me to places I've never been. This is so lovely written with movement in every line. MARVELOUS! David

Soaring words for soaring principles, plus a willingness to turn and face the foe. And poetry that matches these timeless sentiments. Head clearing stuff Linda in a pure setting. We need more of this. The cynics will smirk. They are the enemy. Oh, declaration of war there! Thanks. jim
