Another day of life by the drop...
I pray the lord help her stop.
She awakes in pain, feeling shame...
Knowing soon again she'll play the game.
I can see the anger in her eyes,
And the alcohol rushing through her veins...
I can see the pump of her heart,
It is filled with pain.
I can see her body shivering
And her mind go insane...
I can see the sweat on her face
It is falling like rain...
I can see she is lost
And forever that will remain.
Alcohol's a cunning beast.
It fools the doctors and the priest,
It fools the clever and the sane-
But not the liver or the brain.
