A Wonder Of This Earth Poem by Crystal Piatt

A Wonder Of This Earth

Howling to the moon and stars,
Running in the cooling wind,
Hunting in the darkened forest,
Play-fighting with its pack.
It loves this kind of life
And is a great friend to the rest of the pack.
Beautiful and intelligent,
By far one of the most magnificent,
Spectacular creatures to roam this planet.
Sleek, glossy fur after swimming,
Fluffed and dried then by the sun.
Its beautiful eyes that glow in the night,
Are as diamonds sparkling in the sunlight.
Kind and daring hearts are found within.
A unique language all their own,
Creates an even stronger bond in the pack.
Love is always true no matter the situation.
Melting all together, makes for a brilliant family.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Wolves and Horses are my most favorite animals in the world. I love them so much! I think I have a few horse poems as well lying around here somewhere that I will try to type up and upload. Enjoy!
