A Woman Strong Poem by Justin Sisson

A Woman Strong

Rating: 5.0

It all started with a text

A simple word

That first step towards something you've lost

All for a chance to regain some sort of respect

Some dignity of yourself that you once couldn't hold onto

People can destroy others with words of pain

So hold your head high and let me tell you

About a girl who once was abused and heart full of pain

She stood up for her rights

She bled for things she wanted

Stood tall against a man that made her cry

Telling herself it was alright to have fear

Fear of losing all that was good

Some thing's that make you feel you can't live without

Are the things you should let be..And set them free

A woman with beauty that could light any dark corner

Someone that is now beyond her boundaries

Someone that is beyond what any one man can see

I wanted to say and maybe take your pain

With your heart still open

I'll help you mend it

For my heart was shattered

I understand the pain of loving someone and crying

Those night's of earth shattering loneliness

I'm here to help and let you breathe through my lungs

As long as I'm here we'll both be set free

Without you I can make it

Without trying I couldn't forgive myself

For you're well worth the pain that may come

The hardships we could face

For you I'd rip my own heart out

And set to fire to help protect you.
