A Wedding Poem by Ballerina With Fins

A Wedding

Rating: 5.0

Jessy, Jessy, Jessy, I do.
Perhaps I do, do you
Do too?

A wedding, a spring Bruhaha
of tears and fears, beating upon
their backs, like fuzzy foreign whips-
the white lace adorning her.

Jessy, Jessy, Jessy, I do.

The cake is magnificent and truly white;
the wedding dress silk-woven and
sequin-ridden and summer-slapped
and slightly choking her.

Jessy, I do.

The French Flower-enhanced wedding aisle
a runway too steep where she,
(the model forced to walk in an asphyxiating gown)
and he will marry with panache.

Perhaps, I do.

Legs tied down to the red carpeted
church floor, arms bound with innocent
threadwork; in front of the old priest, facing
him with wide eyes beneath her veil.

Jessy, Jessy, Jessy, I do.
Perhaps I do, do you
Do too?

I can relate for many brides as I owned a wedding shop and you have captured the true picture here. Excellent---Melvina---

It reads with the urgency of a hurried frenzy to capture a man... =) dan

A bit of insecurity perhaps, or maybe the bride is having second thoughts, it would be a bold move to back out at this point. Good write, I'm sure many can relate. Brian
