A Warning About Donuts

A Warning About Donuts

Never ty to ring donuts
Pigeons' legs - yes.
Doorbell, of course.
Girls' fingers - that's alright.
But donuts? No!
Donuts are dangerous
They think themselves holy
More holy than Polo Mints
Who have smaller holes.
Or ancient oriental money.
Who makes these holes?
Is it Pots?
Renowned for their road-works.
Holes manufactured
Clandestinely on Holy Island
Off our northern coast?
Or by the Pope and Holy Writ?
Locksmiths perhaps
Whoes keyholes may come
With bloodshot eyes
That peer back at you
From the other side of shut doors.
Holes are not wholesome.
They do not exist.
They are figments made of
Nothing!
But at night
Donuts have black holes.
I warn you
Be wary; avoid.
Or you shall
Disappear for ever
Sucked into their orifice
In a circle of confusion.
You will enter virgin territory
That is the Donut.
Be warned and remember
Jam doughnuts are much safer.
