A Walk In The Shadow Of Death Poem by Joseph Blitch

A Walk In The Shadow Of Death

In the book of life, my name penned tight,
From the beginning, as the dawning light,
From heaven given by the Holy Trinity,
Born into a godly family was this entity.

Taught by strict parents in the world of old,
Unwilling to learn or to their morality hold.
I always attended the worship house of God,
Yet it was a quite crooked path which I trod.

My soul contained no Godly morals within.
As I existed for this world’s shameless sin,
My life occupied with sin both day and night,
That so-called midnight hour caused no fright.

It was I that was always placed first for me,
I was the ruler of my life, no other could be.
Deadly plane crash, remained alive, one soul,
When found, you were very blessed I was told.

Awakened to a sight of blood running free,
I envision the truth of one crucified for me.
My eyes opened with a renewing of my heart,
I now walk within His kingdom, taking part.
