A Vow To My Queen Poem by Michael Ernst

A Vow To My Queen

For you, My Queen, I have returned
Your chosen knight again I wish to be
It's been a long perilous journey
Will you grant this wish I ask of thee

I come before you, not standing but kneeled
To offer my life, my sword, and my shield

To thee my commitment until my last breath is lost
I will defend your life, your honor, pay any cost

Be not afraid with me, for you I will fight
In armor now mended, shiny and bright

On life's battlefield stand with me
All opponents shall I smite
To thee I pledge this, My Queen
I sir Michael, your devoted knight
