A Ventriloquist Without A Dummy Poem by Nicola Kelly

A Ventriloquist Without A Dummy

A ventriloquist without a dummy

Nearly had a full blown conversation,
At home the other day,
Problem I was the only one,
Present having something to say.

My excuse that I live alone,
When I'm scowling at the tv,
Or complaining about all the mess,
It really cannot just be me.

Lets just say its thinking aloud,
Trouble it's not just confined within,
My own four walls per say,
Happens at work or the car,
Even my mums the other day.

As habits go learning to keep,
Words and conversations left unsaid,
Even though the odd random comment,
Still pops out of my head.

Ofcourse I talk to myself,
If confronted to them I'll reply,
Sometimes I need expert advice,
From myself the best reason why...
