A Tour Of Our Solar System Poem by Nichole Kaci McKnight

A Tour Of Our Solar System

Our solar system called the Milky Way is located up in the sky.
The vastness of outer space can sometimes make us want to cry.
We'd like to explore you to learn more about many other worlds.
The beauty of outer space and the heavens' can always be unfurled.
We look through a telescope to see the vastness of the Milky Way.
If we were to travel in a spaceship to view the planets today,
We'd see Mercury, Venus, and even Mars.
Oops, I forgot to mention our planet called Earth!
God gave the solar system and all planets birth.
Once past Earth and Mars we'll see the planet called Jupiter.
As we know Jupiter is the biggest planet of them all.
Even the philosophers know that Jupiter can enthrall.
We fly past Jupiter to the ring planet that's called Saturn.
Let's pause on our journey to watch the Saturn's ring pattern.
The next two planets we see are Uranus and Neptune, they are known as the sister planets, its true.
Both Uranus and Neptune are the sister planets, because they're similar in size and they're both blue.
We can end our exploration of the planets in our solar system.
There use to be a tenth planet, but Pluto lost its planet distinction.
The reason why we want to explore is to prevent mankind's extinction.
